Got a call from a potential customer today that said a glass professional concluded that he had tinting laminated within the glass. The car originated in FL and he received a ticket in Michigan. Anyone heard of such a thing? I've seen some Lexus autos that appear to have a brownish non reflective tinting in the glass of all the car's windows but I don't see many Saabs. Any input is appreciated. Thank you. - FB

I hae a 03' 9-3 saab sedan in here and I cant for the life of me figure out how to get the door panels off. I have removed the handle and the two hex bolts. It just doestnt want to budge and I dont want to break anything. Is it the push up and out style or what?? I am worried that I am gonna try to force it and break it. Can anyone throw out a suggestion? thanks, tim

2003 93 sport sedan

I just purchased a green 2003 saab 93 sport sedan. Today I recieved my tint in the mail. I purchased a precut kit from Tint Kits. Are there any tricks or challenges that I need to be aware of with this car? Which windows need to be shrunk? Would it be necessary to remove the door panels using a pre cut kit? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks

This car is one of the easiest four door cars that I have done in a long time. It had gobs of room on the side seals and the rear window is very easy to shrink.

Another POS that needs felt. WTF?????? Panels pop right off though. Remove the arm-rest cover, (it just pops straight off), remove two hex bolts underneath it.....and the panels pop off.

Tint help for Black Saab 9-5 Aero.

I just purchased a black 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero. It came with tinted windows. I was told that the tint is as dark as allowed in Indiana. The tint is too dark for me. I live in Rochester, NY. I would prefer a tint that is slightly darker then stock. Not reflective at all. Any recommendations for type of tint that I may want. would a smoke/grey color tint look ok on a black car? any brand of tint that is best? Thanks, Mike

Scratches?

I recently purchased a brand new saab 93 and had the windows tinted on it, after waiting 3 days like the installer had told me, I rolled the windows down and after putting them back up I saw a bunch of vertical scracthes on it, he said he can replace the tint but the only way to prevent that is to cut the inner seal. Is that true? Will more wind noise enter the cab? It just doesnt seem right that I should have to cut the seal on a brand new car? If anyone can give me some advice that would be great.

Judging from past Saab models, I wasn't sure what to expect on this one. Figures that I was totally over-scheduled when this one came in and the customer was waiting for it. Overall, this is a very simple car. Every window had to be shrunk... the side glass I wet shrunk, and the back was done dry. The back window was curved, all the way from the center of the glass, but the amount of curve was minimal enough that it was a simple shrink job. The door panel gaskets on this car pop right out without the removal of the panels, making installation of the roll-downs very simple.
