Do NOT put a razor blade anywhere near driver and passenger front doors. They have a coating that scratches very easily. Ask me how I know. You're welcome...

I noticed on a previous thread about an older new body Tundra that the front window breaks away in the last few inches of roll down, are the 2010's this way as well and whats the best way to cut these type of windows? Thanks!

So I have another one of these to do tonight and am looking for some advice on the rear quarters.. First off, are you guys tucking the film behind the gasket on them? I am having a hard time getting the back corner on the bottom edge to tuck in there properly due to how tight it is. If you are not tucking it or even if you are I guess, how are you cutting both the top triangle and the bottom triangle so that the tint does not want to lift off the glass in the corner? The bottom is the one I am more concerned with.

Hey guys, I'm new to tinting, but pretty good with my fingers and have watched a few being done - fancy my chances. Anyone tinted a 5th Gen celica? That back window is HUGE and curved-which is my main worry. I dont really want join lines in it. It also has a sort of gradiented black line top section to it that I'm not sure will just cover, or if I'll have to avoid it and paint over it. Thoughts? James

'94 Toyota truck 1 2 3

I will be tinting a friends Toyota 4x4 truck here soon. I looked at the slider and stationary window in the back and was wondering how you go about tinting them while avoiding light gaps? On the slider window, how do you cut the pattern around the handle? The handle protrudes on the inside and outside and there is no seal to tuck the tint behind. On the stationary rear windows how can you cut the pattern to avoid light gaps when there is no seal to tuck the film behind?

'98 4runner 1 2 3

Ok this is my first post, but I have done a few searches on here and cannot find the answers I need. I have a '98 4runner. These cars have factory tint on the rear passenger windows and the rear window. I want to have the fronts tinted so that they match or closely match the factory tint. What is the usual % for factory tint? Somewhere I read that it might be around 20% so I was thinking that I would do 20% up front. I know 20% is !llegal and that's not great, but I also read somewhere that having anything less that 20% is kinda pointless. How dark is 20%? Is it hard to drive at night or in the rain? How much should a shop charge to tint two front windows? Thank…

have one to do in a couple of weeks question is I see that the brake light and speaker are as one but looks like enough clearance between light and glass should I do the old binder cover trick or is it fairly easy to remove?

I have tried tinting the rear sliding doors on a sienna and they just wont lay flat. Looks like a rear window before I knew how to heat shrink. I was wondering if I have to heat shrink the side glass and if I do should I charge more because it will take longer?

Hi! Just wanted to get input as to the best 'look' you have seen on a Silver (Lunar Mist) Toyota Camry. I'm thinking of going with Llumar film, 30% on the doors & 20% on the back. Comments? Thanks! =)

I actually tried to take out those pesky little rear door quarter glass windows today, I removed the upper hidden screw, then the one behind the panel, but I could not get the window track that runs in front of the quarter to move enough to get it out. This rear window track runs all the way to the bottom of the door, I even removed the lower bolt on the track, but it still wouldn't come completely out. Do you guys take this rear window track out? If so do you remove the roll up glass first, I got scurred of breaking things so I just put it back together and did the best I could with those little windows, but I still want to be able to remove them to do a proper job.

what a pain these are with the sliding door rear roll downs. I've done a few already, I even bought my mom one, but this one is Omega Plus 5% not factory tinted. here's my moms van is also an 07. I bought it recently with the factory tinted windows, that way I woudnt have to tint it, she still made me tint over with Omega plus 20% I hate these things, to tint them. price them high.

No problems with this one although it had vent visors it was still a POC. The rear window needed very little shrinking. Still not as easy as the FJ cruiser though.

First do the back glass (minimal shrinking) Second do the pain in the rear quarter glass (must shrink) Lastley do the front rool ups (no shrink, seals are a little tight. no need to pull panels, just slide the tint right on down) Doun't make the same mistake I did. My partner did the front roll ups and I did the rear glass. We put the top down, there was the mistake! The top switch rolls all of the windows down, oops there went the front roll ups. Just a FYI. Easy car as long as you don't do the same thing we did.

This car has been changed from the earlier models. Bad news : the 3rd brake light is much tighter against the back glass but is still tintable with a bulldozer (push downward , then slide to the left or right of the brake light , then lift away to avoid pulling the film up) Good news : the gaskets pull our REAL easy so no panel removal or tucking ..just remove 1 screw where the door handle is . 1/4 glass looks like it's the same as the other years. So other than a tighter brake light , not a bad car Oh yeah..if your picking up one of these from the dealer..watch it fly when you hit the gas..this thing eats the older corollas for dinner
Last reply by Graviteesfx, -
Just got done doing one of these for the dealer. Wayyyyy easier...no struts on the glass anymore. the rear quarter windows are really, really tiny...just a sliver of a window. I dont know why they even bothered with them!

if you're having trouble shaping these backglass's, ive found that the easiest way is to divide it into an H patern and pocket shrink it focusing on the left and right sides. the middle third needs almost no shrinking.

I took a job for a 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser this after noon. Is there anythin I should now about this car? Things to look out for? Tips or Tricks? Or even an admonishment to run and save myself the time and trouble?

Has anyone shrunk the back glass of these cars before? do you consider this as a hard window cuz I been attempting to do this back glass and always failed. The back glass doesn't have much room to work with and also curves downward on the sides. Any tips on shrinking the corners especially the bottom ones without creasing? if you can post a video that would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

What do you think is the best tint for a white toyota corolla that isn't that dark? the owner actually wants it with no tint, but due to the hot weather, he wanted it tinted but not that tint. what do you think?
