hello tintdudes, any information on removing the sliding windows on this van (theres 8 in total) would be greatly appreciated, the rear and 2 mini side windows are fixed screens (no matrix) so could be interesting thanks in advance. I'll post pictures once completed oh, and before anyone jumps in to this topic with any negativaty, yes, this is my first posting on here, im based in london, england, I've been tinting for a few months, I trained in california and I consider myself a novice but always try to do a clean install.

I have one to do today at 3:00 and if I remember correctly, the rear window rolls down. Any suggestions on how to tint it, is it just kind of like a regular roll up side window? Also any suggestions for rolling it by yourself, without effin up the film? lol Thanks in advance guys.

How many people have had this problem? I assume its from the angle of the window. I also assume that the only way to really fix this is to put darker film on. She says the film has been on there since 2001. Has anyone had a defrost come off on one these? Thanks

So I have another one of these to do tonight and am looking for some advice on the rear quarters.. First off, are you guys tucking the film behind the gasket on them? I am having a hard time getting the back corner on the bottom edge to tuck in there properly due to how tight it is. If you are not tucking it or even if you are I guess, how are you cutting both the top triangle and the bottom triangle so that the tint does not want to lift off the glass in the corner? The bottom is the one I am more concerned with.

Just a heads up. We have been seeing alot of weld slag on the drivers side of the back window. Make sure You run Your hand on the glass before you hang the film, because it will NOT come off with a white scrubbie. It's very small spatter, hard to see, but when the film is on it looks bad.

Went to do a 2010 Toyota Venza the other day and i went to start on the bg and my 20" missed the corners by about 2 inches. The bg looked flat in pics, but it has alot of horizontal curve. In three years ive NEVER not had film to do a car. I only carry 36" rolls of 20% and 5% b/c Ive only done ONE bg in 35% the whole summer. I was gonna dry shrink the bg, but the spoiler was pretty tight up top, so wet shrinking may be easier. This car look like cake...im pissed I didn't do it. Oh yea, it has front quarters, so charge accordingly.

on the new tundra the front rolldowns break away from the frame on the front side. you can only see the break in the last 2 inches. also on the extra cab, well they open like 4 real doors but it isnt the super crew, on the rear side instead of the break they flip out. you know how on rear truck doors you cut across then down on the top edge, well on this truck you cut across, down, then out again. will post pics up this afternoon.

Toyota Sequoia Rear View a Problem

Thinking about saying yes to a 08 Toyota Sequoia tint job, but before I do, want to make sure I can handle the rear view mirror thing/assembly. Besides watching out for a stuck accelerator pedal speeding off on me during installation, what other hazards might you have me look out for while doing this SUV? 1. Is there a SIMPLE way of tinting under or around this rear view mirror assembly. Can it be taken off? You guys are the experts and I apreciate your feedback.

Has anyone shrunk the back glass of these cars before? do you consider this as a hard window cuz I been attempting to do this back glass and always failed. The back glass doesn't have much room to work with and also curves downward on the sides. Any tips on shrinking the corners especially the bottom ones without creasing? if you can post a video that would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

So, one of My friends owns a shop in Tampa. He has a major account with a Toyota dealership. Over the past two weeks, he has had a total of five Camrys come back with scratches on the inside of the windows from the razor blades. 11 windows in total. Anyone had this happen to them, or know if the 2010 Camrys have any coating applied to the inside of the glass? Oh, and before anyone says anything about blades or improper cleaning techniques, these cars were tinted in between other cars, meaning no other cars came back in the same time period as the camrys. Any help would be appreciated.

Dark tint and visualization (night)

Hey, So I am sort of new at this. I want to get my windows tinted on my 1999 4runner.... The back ones are all stock (about 20% I think), but the fronts are not very tinted. I wanted to get the front sides done at a 20% tint. Also, the guy at the shop said it would look good if I got the 5% (limo) tint on the back ones and would help offset the fronts. I am trying to get information on the 5% though. I like that no one can see me very well with the darker tint, but I don't want to make it too dark where it's actually hard to see out of in bad weather and at night. Does anyone have any input on that!??? Also, since that are already 20% stock tinted, if I was to put anot…

I just did a 2010 Corolla S and there was NO room for a bulldozer behind that brake light. Even my 'slimfoot' couldn't get all the way to the bottom and the trim behind the light wanted to lift the film til I shoved the slimfoot so hard I thought it was going to scratch. Super quick and easy car but for that.

Ok this is my first post, but I have done a few searches on here and cannot find the answers I need. I have a '98 4runner. These cars have factory tint on the rear passenger windows and the rear window. I want to have the fronts tinted so that they match or closely match the factory tint. What is the usual % for factory tint? Somewhere I read that it might be around 20% so I was thinking that I would do 20% up front. I know 20% is !llegal and that's not great, but I also read somewhere that having anything less that 20% is kinda pointless. How dark is 20%? Is it hard to drive at night or in the rain? How much should a shop charge to tint two front windows? Thank…

Did a 2003 Solara today. Turned out great! The dot matrix on the back was a pain in the butt. Also, Gaskets are a little tight on front roll ups. This was a coupe.. Not much room to work in the back but thank you bulldozer..

I have problem, I did a 2004 toyota 4runner about a week ago (front two doors only) it had some small dots at the top of each glass, which me nor the owner were satisfied with. so told him I would like to redo them. I only have one small problem, I cant get a blade down in between the front bottom of the glass and the door panel. you all know like the f150's and expeditions. he already told me that he would rather not take the door panel off. do any of you have any suggstions as how to get the glue out of there. or maybe a special blade holder or something. thanks

I am about to have a Toyota Sienna 2008 tinted, looking for ideas and input on the percentage of tint I should use since the van comes with some factory tinted solar privacy glass. I plan on using johnson hp film, is that a good product with reasonable results? for the front driver and passenger windows? is 45% good enough for the rear sides and back window?

Just got a 2009 White Toyota Camry SE and wanted to get the windows tinted. I hear people talking about Huper Optik, Llumar, SunTek, 3M, and GeoShield. I'm not too sure what brand I should go with. However, I do want something that isn't too dark - maybe around 45/50% and reasonably priced. Any advice??

Newbie attempting rear window on 07 Camry.. 1 2

I tinted a few cars back in the 80's but I always used two piece rear windows, so to shrinking Im a newb. My wife bought an 07 Camry and in need of tint, so I decided to try my hand at shrinking. I picked up some 20%. All the doors came out great but that rear window kicked my A** ! Im doing the dry soap method. After applying a decent amount of soap film I used an H patter for anchors. I trimmed down the excess and left about a 2 inch border all around. On the sides is where im having the most problems. I cannot get the fingers out it seams as if the papers just stops shrinking. I heard that the sides are not heat shrinked is this true ? only the bottom and top. I tried…

I have narrowed down the choices in between Formula One Pnnacle 35 and Huper Optick 40. Please let me know your opinons and suggestions. Thank you. If anyone has either one of these two films applied to his/her car, please upload a photo if it is possible.

2005 Toyota Avalon, Llumar ATC
by Guest sr20det- 9 replies

I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon Limited and am looking to have it tinted. The guy I trust (Scott from Blackout, Milwaukee) will be using Llumar 35% ATC, so there won't be any interference on the Nav system. My car has the factory green solar glass. I have 2 questions -Will the Llumar ATC 35% tint highlight the green solar glass? I want my windows to look as deep gray as possible, not have a greenish gray look. My buddy had his GTI tinted with SunTek and it looks very green even though it was just 35% Gray film. -Is the Llumar ATC doing well as far as color stability? I know its a relatively newer film, as I searched. I know Llumar is a good name, all my cars have been tin…
