Hey guys, I'm new to tinting, but pretty good with my fingers and have watched a few being done - fancy my chances. Anyone tinted a 5th Gen celica? That back window is HUGE and curved-which is my main worry. I dont really want join lines in it. It also has a sort of gradiented black line top section to it that I'm not sure will just cover, or if I'll have to avoid it and paint over it. Thoughts? James

Is the rear deck on this car easy or hard to take out? Looks like the brakelight and the deck are 1 piece. Got one to tint next Tuesday.

2005 Toyota Corolla XRS

Dealership calls and says they have 3 in and want them tinted today, no problem. This car has a 170 HP motor and they have changed it. Dealership did not know that they have changed, they checked and it is just the XRS 170 model. Change - back seat does not fold down. To do a proper job and remove the rear deck you have to pull the seat bottom out and seat back, side "C" pillars and then deck. If you want the benefit of putting your body in the trunk you have to remove 4 bolts to get the body stiffining cross brace out and remove the cheap black COROPLAST backing. The brake light is in the spoiler but the deck still has a moulded fake one. Not a big hassel but kinda s…

Having Toyota say the tint on te rear window is may be causing AM radio reception problems. Camry has in glass rear antenna. Using no metal tint, can't see how this could be affecting radio reception?

how do you tint the rear door rollups on the newer tundras? I don't know how to explain it, but the procedure to cut these don't seem to be the same as most other rear door rollups... I think it's the 1999+ models

I have tried tinting the rear sliding doors on a sienna and they just wont lay flat. Looks like a rear window before I knew how to heat shrink. I was wondering if I have to heat shrink the side glass and if I do should I charge more because it will take longer?

Toyota Matrix - MPV?
by Guest bmarnett- 9 replies

I really like this forum! I have a question to ask. Does anyone know if a Toyota Matrix would fall under the Multi-Purpose Vehicle classification? It is billed by Toyoya as a CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle) but this may be too gray of an area. Please forgive me if this has been addressed before but I couldn't find it using the search tool.

the rubber gasket at the bottom of the doors has no felt where it touches the glass. it's a hard rubber that scratches the film to hell within a year. only solution I know of is cut off the gasket. I'll be staying away from these from now on.

have one to do in a couple of weeks question is I see that the brake light and speaker are as one but looks like enough clearance between light and glass should I do the old binder cover trick or is it fairly easy to remove?
