First Beetle, first try! I can not believe I actually got it come out almost perfect! Never had anything in that had this much curve to it! So stoked that it came out! Had to do the pass door 4 times til I was happy with that lol! Used powder with it tacked only across the center, lots of heat and lots of pulling!

Tips....charge plenty! Rear screen a tough shrink ala Golf but can be done.....potentially expect some fish eyes on the demister lines near the top of the glass. 1/4's easy. Doors....trim removal a pane especially the fronts. Be very, very careful not to break the plastic clip that sits under the door trim below the mirror cover. It actually fits under the cover like a big toe extended so you can't simply full it straight back otherwise it will snap....customer did that for me and broke each one on each side. What you have to do is lift from the rear first so that the front part of the door trim would then slide on down from under the cover at an angle. The weather…

Having a bit of trouble shrinking the rear window on this. This is the first car since doing a 3 day course, so i'm aware its going to take a few attempts but i'm getting ****** off now lol.... I've done an arch to anchor about half way up the window, to bottom corners, and can get the bottom shrunk fine, its the top corners i'm having trouble with.... Anyone got any tips that work best for them? Consistently getting bunching in the top corners and just end up creasing it. Thanks.

Have you seen the tint on the 2015 vw toureg? It looks like a a very deep aqua green color on the rear windows, measured 28% on my meter. I do alot of work for one of my vw audi dealers and this will be a problem trying to match the tint for the front roll-ups. So far I can find nothing to match it color wise by anyone. Anybody got any ideas? thanks.

Hey guys. Im new to the forum! I own a 2013 VW cc 6 speed 2L turbo. I was having a hard time deciding on how dark to get my tint done. So after doing some research on www.tintlawshq.com and www.tintlaws.com on window tint laws I came to a conclusion of getting my windows tinted 5%. My car is in the shop right now but as soon as I get it back ill provide everyone with some pictures. I love how it looks. Post comments tell me if you think its too dark.

Also, customer is some foreign guy who wants limo all the way around, yucky lol Anyway he'll be here at 8am if any of you get this gimme a heads up, otherwise I'll shoot some pictures tomorrow

I am a rookie in the field, and ran into a problem trying to tint the side windows. The top of the door panel sits so much higher than the rubber seal and I could not get the film to drop behind the rubber. What is the easiest way to accomplish these windows? Anything else I should know about with this car? Thanks in advance.

MK5 Golf - Front and Rear Doors
by Guest ShadowTinting- 1 reply

Well here is my 2 cent on this vehicle (learnt on mine as I have one) Made life easier by removing the gasket/seal/weather strip (depends on what you all call it. This can be done by: 1) roll down the window for the front passenger and driver door, remove the screw in the top corner of the door. Then get your hand in and fingers under the panel and pop it back a bit, this will give you enough remove for manoeuvre. The strip can be easy or hard to get it and could take a bit of pressure depending on either. It should come out fairly easy. Presto, tint the doors and drop the strip back in and clip the top part of the panel and screw it on. 2) the rear passenger doors ar…

VW T4 rear screen problem
by Guest dazzer- 1 reply

Just need a bit of advice. I have recently been doing a lot of T4 rear screens. All to date have been easy and looked great with happy customers. I have one van that I had in a few weeks ago to do just the rear screen that had areas on the heater lines that just wouldnt stay down even with heat. The owner had been on holiday but I had the van back today and removed the tint and re did it and in exactly the same areas it did it again. The van has recently had a full respray which included all the windows being removed and re fitted. Could this problem be some contamination on the glass that obviously isnt coming off when I clean it. Method I am using is dry shrink the we…

I attempted to pull the panel but for whatever reason it just wont come loose. cant pull the top out a little bit to pull the gasket. I'm out of ideas. anyone have any suggestions?

No a bad unit to tint. pulling rear door panels is quite painless and makes for a cleaner install as the gasket is tight to the glass.

I recently bought a VW Phaeton and need someone who has experience with this car (and its mechanical twin the Bentley Flying Spur) to discuss tinting the car. I would need someone in the So Cal area with experience. Here's more info on the car and its intricacies, but if you've tinted them before I'm sure you know. http://www.tintdude.com/forum/index.php/page/index.html/_/car-tips/vw-phaeton-and-bentley-flying-spur-r382

I'm having a hard time getting the rear door window sweep out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to tuck the film in the gasket or can I leave it right above since the door panel will hide it? Thanks guys.

Easy car. Doors are the same as the hard top. Back window has no room and needs to be cut exact. Not sure if the plastic molding can be removed around the back window. I was hesitant to try but might try it when we get another one in . Quarter windows have a plastic clip at the bottom , so it makes for cutting a interesting template .

every window on this car is a challenge. all the door panels have to be removed in order to get it done right where theres no gap on the sides and the film is under the bottom gasket. the 1/4's are really tight. the rear glass isnt that bad, but its no cake walk. break out the titan, the bulldozer with the scrubbie on the end, the grey ez reach, and a 2" smoothie for for the 1/4's. this car took me 3 hours to complete, compared to an hour for a camry/maxima.

Hey all, any things I should be doing / not doing for this one. It's been a while since a did a veedub but I see from past posts the gasket comes out the way most cars do these days... I'm guessing the window drops a touch when the door is opened.

Hi there, I am a newbie to this tint industry, I need to work on a 2011 VW GTI 4 DR. Anyone have experience on tinting this car? I got the tints pre-cut, bought from ebay. So it's already save me some time of trimming and cut them. What next? I hope you can briefly provide step by step instructions, and that would be very helpful. Thank you for all of you in advanced!!!
