What to tell dealer?

If they do wreck your tint, make them pay for it to be replaced. If you stick to your guns, they will do it. I replace quite a bit of body shop ruined tint. If they do have to fix it, make sure they take it to the place it was originally done at, otherwise through time the film will look different.

If they damage it they should pay for it. End of story.

Here's a good one.

I had the service department of a local dealer tell my customer that window tinting was the reason for her power window motors burning out. :uh By the time I was done with them they had a different opinion. :uh They like to blame everyone else for their faulty parts.

Hmmm.... I wonder if its ever the detailer's fault. He cleans the glass with something that causes extra drag on the motors? Thats what they could say if the there was no tint I guess.

Okay, I finally had the repair done, and got my vehicle back today. Guess what - They scratched the tint on the back glass by a defroster line. :passout

When I pointed it out, they said that if I got it fixed, they would pay the bill. Somehow, I doubt it will be that easy. I am not happy. :sad

So, I will be taking it back to the tint shop to see about fixing it. Maybe they don't have to strip the whole window, and can patch or fix it somehow.

Sorry for the rant.

I used to work at a dealership as a Elect. specialist and heard this several times come out of other bays. "Window tint caused motor/regulator failure" on cars and even more unbelievable, trucks. Alot still under warranty. We went around several times about that, me being a tinter in the past. Almost every single car that was pretty new that had a failure I was able to point out coke or excessive dirt IN the seals or tracks or pinched wires, etc. You will have a bad part from time to time. Alero's for example. I loved doing that to them. Made me look even better :beer Also made them change work orders.
