1000to 1700 is all you need to get started...The craftsman is great for weight and learning to glide around corners ect..I start everyone out on them even when someone says I been buffing for 5 years.... :lol6 Show meeee :lol:lol6 50.00 isnt to much to spend to find out if its something you want to get good at also :lol Get good... buy Pro type buffer...use as a training tool in the future :lol and all is well says the buffing Gods :lol
