Ok well I have heard alot of people tinting in  one piece.  When I had my civic done at a local shop it appears that the tint is small strips between each defroster (only way I knew is because one of the strips began to peel back when I first got it).

So what is the best way to do it and why?  Seems like individual strips would be a pain in the ass.

thats called the appalachian tint method. Its done that way because all the tinters

in KY can only afford to scraps from a real tintshop

LOL its not as bad as most people think. I came here from houston so I know big city from coutry hick place (most of Ky is messed up but louisville is nice, 17th largest city in the US!)

Anyways thanks for the tips guys. Learned something new today.

:sign one piece windows are the only way to go, I have been doing them for years first it was with the wet method then the dry shrink method. I have also tried the dryer sheet method but I don't like having to worry about getting any contaminates in my film so I don't use either the druer sheet or baby powder methods :shock

It would be interesting to hear how you dry shrink without powder or dryer sheets. You'd think the film would cling to the back glass like Saran Wrap, thus making it very difficult to dry shrink, if not impossible. :sign Please tell me if I'm wrong, but I think you need the dryer sheets. Stops static cling in the wash, and also on the back glass.

time to improve skills and get on the band wagon with no relief cuts

A skilled tinter can do an opportunistic relief cut that even a competitor can't locate, so again, what's the big deal in one? None...I rest my case.

Find it and it's free! :sign Come on, this horse has been flogged to death. Isn't there anything more to share and learn in things about film rather than all this old 10 year old hype?

How to make more money from your tinting hours would be more appropriate. 2c.

Devil :shock

Relief cuts and invisi-seams are still used by this old guy and I'm with Dev on this... find it if you can.

On top of it all, my seams are cut on the defrost on the exterior of the glass... find them still, if you can... :thumb

Shame to lose an install op when my skills are limited (to a one-piece install). :thumb
