we generaly blow through heat guns in 3 months the best one I have found is the

Stienel they last me over a year of daily abuse :lol

Electronically controlled with continously

variable temperature adjustable from 122?F to

1100?F. Max 1500 Watts

Air Flow 17.6 cfm; 9.5 cfm;

Stienel web site

I will try a Craftsman next since TG thinks it's the Heatgungod. I trust his judgement. Nice looking gun and I would even think it made be made by these guys just glancing at it. But the Steinel with the LCD temp display has twice the air output of a Milwaukee and concentrated well. I like them. just $220 for it.

the craftsman also has a led readout that tells you how hot it is.. :lol

The $189-220 is worth it if you like shiny new toys. But knowing the Craftsman has the LED/LCD makes it even better. Local still doesn't have one in stock. Think I may make it my next new toy. The thing about the one I have now is the wheel fan control under your finger on the grip. easy to turn and when heating harder films, you need a quick way to up and down the heat and/or output. Better even doing it one handed without moving the heat off the tint or swapping hands.

The PC I have had my hands on, a while back, was heavy for daily use. Although it did have the heat output. Is it similar to the one Snap-On has on their truck? The red and silver one?

no. nothing is like the pc.

if it's too heavy, start lifting some weights. :lol seriously, you get used to it after a while. I've been using mine for years, I don't even think about the weight.

well I have never used the PC in a tint job. So I don't know. I just know I am used to Mil.'s and Steinel which are pretty light compared to Snap Off's

Got a model number I can look into?

porter cable model 1700 :thumb
