Before you install the film where do you put the patterns to eliminate contamination, at the mo I am putting them on the side of the car then peeling the liner and spraying. I have heard some people use large glass, or what sort of equipment would you recommend

Alot of mobile tinters use as little tools as possible, so they also use the car as a peeling board same as you seem to be doing. What alot of shops do instead since they have the space to put a board, is to have a large piece of glass against the wall to lay the cut patterns on until they are done cutting the whole car and shrinking the back glass, then will start one by one installing the cutouts.

It can be something as simple as a shower door, a large piece of glass mounted on a frame of some sort (sheet of wood I bet would even work) and on up to this fine piece of work that was posted by atypicaldave....

I got glass on the wall. squeege the car windows before you put you film on to cut patterns and make sure the glass on the wall is clean. you definitely need clean surfaces for the tint otherwise your just transferring dirt around on your tint.
