Is the hatchback hydraulics mounted to the window or trunk? Has anyone done paint protection on the 05 Corvette?

The glass is in the hatch like a normal hatchback.. I did one today, and well, the bottom sides are a little tricky to get smooth, but it worked out ok..

I did it last week,not too bad and the paint protection was easier than I thought on the corvette.
