I want my windows diped not tinted with film....I've been tinting over 15 years and have had people tell me this is posibable....wher and how much....I tell them that I don't know any where it is done and they all seem to say in flordia...so I tell them to box up all there glass and ship it to flordia....so how much would that cost.......any way any one ?

Yeah I get that some times. As far as I know the only "dipping" was done using some junk called FLOW. I have heard many oldschoolers talk about how messy it was, and bad for you too I guess. LOL :dunno Ask key west :lol6

I have seen liquid tint it was done long time ago and it was a spray they would spray at the top of commerical glass and put a rain type gutter at the bottom and it ran down and got darker ...when I saw it I was scraping it off it looked like a puzzle that shrank all cracked and looking like crap...it was a @#$% to get off made a big mess like shavings of light blue....it reminded me of spray tint likein a can that stuff is super crap did it once back in the 80's when I tinted my ford torion and promised myself I'd nevermess with that tint crap again.....not knowing 10 years later I was going to be a tinter.....

I saw some of that back in the late 80's aswell. After it dried it had a plastic, rubbery feel to it. Total junk with no longevity. I think it lasted about as long as parachute pants. :dunno

I tell them yea we do that, all I do is take out all the windows and do them that way, how the hell will they know the difference? only difference would be in the price, "sure I'll dip your windows, its 400$ extra" :dunno:lol6

Did you mean a Torino , I had a 76' Ford Elite w/ the lil' opera windows . Got mad and rattle canned em semi - gloss black .

dumplin: yes I ment torino..and the 76 had much smaller window the ones your talking about....mine was a small roll down....not as bad as the one you had....that was my first car.....the old starsky and hutch car....

      Best place to learn window tint ppf

      Ppf is going to be the easiest for you to transition to coming from detail and being familiar with car body shapes. Tinting can be alot more challenging to get right in a detail shop, even for an experienced installer. Taking the class from Xpel would probably benefit you in your position because it would (1) give you brand support for ongoing install questions. (2)becoming a dealer would probably be easier after having gone through their training and beginning a professional relationship. (3) likely give you access to a protected product area. Ask first to make sure that access will granted. (4) you would most likely be added to their list of installers on their website if you are accepted as a dealer. For someone just starting out the dealer/marketing support would be helpful, even if you pay a few dollars extra as compared to taking a random class and whinging it. Once you've been at it for a few years any solid brand/product will do, however, some prefer the dealer model for the obvious benefits and build their buisness around it. You'll find what works for you after you've been at it for a few years. Good luck and post any install questions you might have once you get started. This is a really good/helpful community here.

      Low angle haze

      I've got the ceramic 70 in a heat/light cube with the ceramic 30, HP30 and clear glass. That stuff is amazing, especially when you can see it side by side. I suspect it's two layers of ceramic base films laminated together to meter at 70vlt. I hope they never change it. Thanks @Bham. Believe it or not I really enjoy educating the customers to find out what they really need and not try to oversell just to turn a buck. Most of my new clients come from older referrals and when they find me I keep em for years. For sure more people are catching on to the product name and I've yet to have a piece of HP or the ceramic fail that wasn't my own fault. It's nice to know I'm not paying for a bunch of marketing collateral and a butt kissing salesman to travel around pass out tshirts and coffee cups that's added into the cost of my roll stock.
