won't stick worth a crap unless you prep them sand and glue ...yet... :thumb they hang on for dear life when removing from years ago tinted windows. :thumb I just removed an old tint job on a Voyager, looks like an early 90's model, dots around every rear window...nearly fell off everywhere else but those dots. :dunno

probably the same reason you cant get 2 day old lasagna off a baking pan,,, Its been hardened and baked on.

Make friends with a glass company and just replace the thing.

He bought it used and it already tinted so I had the pleasure of redoing it for him. Not feasable to replace every window.

:dunno I'd've replaced the whole van. :thumb

They are carbon black, which absorbs a tremendous amount of solar heat compared with the more transparent glass area. This tends to bake the adhesive, drying its composition and hardening. PS adhesives are designed to remain somewhat soft in consistency for years into its performance life.

The film doesn't stick well in the beginning because the material that makes up this matrix coating is suspected to oxidize, producing an invisible anti-stick coating on its surface and into the subsurface. This is why it's critical how well the area gets prepped before installing film. The anti-stick characteristic is to keep the glass from sticking to the mold during the firing stage.

At least this is how it's been explained to me by one of the auto glass makers... :thumb
