Hey everyone! I'm new to this board.

On my way to get my car window tinted, I got pulled over for going 86 on a 65mph area. Haha...

But yeah, anyways, question regarding the tint. The place I did it has been in business for 20 years, and they seem pretty reliable. After I got home, I noticed some bubbles on the tint and I'm not sure if it's air bubbles of water bubbles. I called them up and they said to wait for the tint to cure. I did research on TINT on this board as well and couple people who just did their tint also have the same problem. So I won't worry about that for now. I did try to force the bubble out a little bit though so I hope that doesn't affect anything. I HOPE! Haha.

My concern is the rear window. I have an 05 Mazda 6. From the outside, I notice there's a white border on the edge of the rear window all around. I felt the glass from the inside. I believe this is due to the fact that the surface edge of the rear from the inside is not smooth. Will it always be like this or will this area of the tint also be cured?

The white border you're seeing happens just as you said, the surface not being smooth like the glass. The thing that is causing the surface to not being smooth are the little dots called the dot matrix around the border of glass. The tint usually won't stick to this, which is why the clear/white border is present. This part will not be cured by time, it will stay that way unless you have the shop redo the install.

Without some picture of seeing the bubbles in the tint we cannot really determine whether or not they will disappear with curing. It's either contamination (particles between the glass and the tint) or as the shop said, air bubbles.

I'll take a picture tomorrow of the bubbles. The bubbles only show up on one of the back windows. Hopefully, they are water filled and will disappear with time and whether.

As for the dot matrix around the border of the glass, what can the installer do about that to prevent that? Is it preventable?

I'm curious if you eye fukked the factory paint before you bought it. $100 says you didn't. and another $100 says I can find 5 flaws in it in under 2 minutes. nothing is perfect--especially tint. enjoy the MANY benefits the tint offers and quit worrying about shiat you don't understand.

and there's no need to take pictures. we all know exactly what you're talking about.

Never ever ever screw with fresh film...just let it be...you can't possibly do anything to it to make it better, you can only mess it up! Then you'll have to live with it.
