vkool install shop in Sacramento Area

I'm looking for a shop in the Sacramento Area (Citrus Heights, Roseville preferred) that deals with the clear VKool tint.

I read on another thread that VKool used to be Solis (sp) and I had that tint put on my 240Z about 10 years ago and it has held up great and does a fantastic job of blocking the heat without looking like anything is on the window. It was expensive for 2 windows but worth it. Before we moved from where they were I had them do my wifes Mazda Protege5 with what they said was the same stuff, it seems to be not quite as good but still decent at heat, it has gotten a couple bubbles though.

I had a local shop put the clear that they had on my Tacoma side and rear window and haven't been impressed with the heat rejection. Although after reading more about the llumar clear stuff it looks like it is more for UV and not so much for heat. I spend about 2 hours a day commuting in the truck and it would be worth it to have better.

V-kool is indeed a good almost legal choice for california, but even in sacramento you'll not find it used in many automotive shops.

If you have concerns about substitution ask that they leave the V-kool branding on the film.

It is black and comes off with alcohol it is printed (I think) on the film itself.

Been a while maybe it is actually on the clear liner. It should have a green color much like automotive glass (fronts) on Hondas and others.

3M brands theirs on the film (removable).

the brand is on the liner, huper also has the same thing. Another film u might consider is huper optik, they have some films for architectural applications that have good heat block and are considerably clear such as solis. the types are drei and sech. Anyone one know if there is automotive drei and sech? I do architectural tinting not automotive so I dont know all the types of film they carry.

Sech can be used on autos as well. It is 10% darker than VKool though, heat rejection is nearly identical though. Drei is a real tough shrink, but if its just for side windows, it would be ok, course wouldn't be legal in CA. Huper makes another film called Acht which is a 75% VLT film with I think a 48% heat reduction value. Another film that would work is Hilite. It provides a 57% Heat reduction with a 74% VLT. There is a dealer for Huper Optik in the Sacramento area, I put the contact number in a thread awhile ago. If you want to drive 5 hours north of Sac. I have all the films listed below in stock and could install them for you, however, I know there have got to be closer dealers. Lightspeed is in Freemont, he is a Huper dealer.

Specs for above mentioned films:

Sech: 60% VLT 54% Heat

Drei: 35% VLT 70% Heat

Acht: 75% VLT 48% Heat

VKool: 70% VLT 55% Heat

Hilite: 74% VLT 57% Heat

If I am not mistaken, I am the only V-Kool automotive dealer in Northern California. I carry the V-Kool 70% in a few different sizes and also a 24" roll of V-Kool 40%. I am also a dealer for Huper Optik ceramic film. Please take a look at my website and if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me for a quote. I have had customer's drive as far as Oceanside near San Diego to the S.F. Bayarea and a few customers from the Sacramento area as well. Auto Mall Tint Specialist
