Hey guys

I'm a newbie with this and just getting into tinting automotive glass. I want to know of a reliable or any online store/source to buy 3M tint film in several different shades. Any suggestion or recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :uh

You're not going to find some online.  Search their web page to try and find the nearest distributor.  Call them up and ask about setting up an account.  While you're at it contact some of the other manufactures and check them out first... :spit

Their solar control film products come from all over the place: Japan, Martinsville, etc., etc... You have to find a distributor who can sell their outsourced products to your area. Its 3M, it has to be good! :lol:lol:dunno

Where do you get your info? I'd love to see documentation on your outsourcing claim. 3M is the 4th largest producer of polyester in the world. They are the leading company for adhesive technology. 3M is a truly 3M product. It is made in Knoxville, IA. Now our Fasara line is made in Japan but, it is 3M Japan. Where does your product come from? Some of the PET S&S films are outsourced and you can tell. Tear the Ultra products if you can get a hold of some. No comparison between your 4 mil and the products 3M can offer.

3M--- 1st with the color stable technology. If somebody made it for us then why did we introduce it?

3M-- NV technology. Why if they make our film did L*umar just introduce the DR line?

This is a common practice for competing dealers.

How stable is your company?

Find yourself a 3M distributor and introduce yourself. You will find that 3M films are much more profitable and easy to sell once you learn the 3M products and your competitor's products. They are easy to beat!!!

Go with 3M. They are a sound company.

Sorry... Bekaert got there b4 the CS line ever hit the market... and Mitsubishi developed pigmented polyester... but believe as you may.

3M--? NV technology.? Why if they make our film did L*umar just introduce the DR line?

Sorry... Vista films has been in the marketplace more than twice the length of time NV has... and NV technology is simple... reverse construction of a dye/colored PET and metal layer. Vista in dual reflective using no dye or pigment... only metal.

This is a common practice for competing dealers.

The only reason dealers speak of outsourcing is because there are only 2 film and component producers in the world that are vertically integrated... the one you are batting for is not one of them.

How stable is your company?

Pretty darn stable if they can continue to have banner sales years, add multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art machinery as part of necessary expansion to keep pace with demand, and fund their own repairs after being hit by a tornado... not to mention still provide and uninterrupted supply of film to their dealer base.

They are but a rather valuable asset held by a company that WILL emerge from chapter 11 reorganization.
