waxing a black car

I am not sure what to use, with so many products and different versions it's hard to know what to use on what kind of car. I'm sure zaino is good but I do not want to spend $85 and a whole day just to polish one car (I'm doing this as a favor, not my car) I need the basics

Black 96 firebird

Clay bar first

Something that won't leave swirl marks

Wax,paste,carnuba or sealant?

Buffer or not to buffer?

Any suggestions appreciated

if your doin it by hand make sure you use a wax applicator and a microfiber towel to reomove the wax :thumb

I use meguyers #20 polymer sealent with a tan foam pad. Works perfect! Another thing to try is pure teflon also with the tan foam pad.

try some Eagle 1 nano wax-- pretty good stuff----takes a little bit to set up--but looks pretty good. It was given to me by my supplier but I think advance or napa sells it for 10 or 12 bucks. I put some on the shop truck and it has lasted 4 or 5 months and been wash numerous times. still looks sweet (the shop truck is black also) :krazy plus it had some pretty nice swirl marks that came out with it by hand.
