OK everybody. I usually don't talk about these kind of things but this one really tops the cake. I had a customer that was referred to me from one of the car forums which I will not mention. He e-mailed me for a price quote on Huper Optik ceramic film for his car and I quoted him a price that was what I usually charged less various discounts. He e-mails me back and asks if I match prices of competitors. He gave me the price that the competitor would charge him and the website. I looked at the website and found out that the shop is clear across the country in New York and I am in California. The price difference is $170 and I am not going to budge one inch. I told him that if he wanted to save $170, take a drive over to New York and have it done. Of course in a much nicer way. :lol:lol:cool:lol

It has always been my experience that the customers who are a pain in the azz on the front end of the sale, only get to be more of a pain in the azz on the back side of the sale. the folks who gladly pay my price, only come back when they want another tint job, the ones who whine and cry about a few dollars, give me a lot more grief about the smallest piece of dust, or the water spots on thier car, etc......

let 'em walk, the sun will probably be back out tomorrow bringing more customers. :cool

Being a good business person is to learn when to say NO.

"The customer is always right", was written by a customer.

A business owner has the same right to choose... they can choose to do business with a customer the same as a customer can choose to do business with them. :beer
