Cobra CXI with steel shaft, I am just happy to get out of the Cobra II irons that I had with graphite shafts. I had to mentaly slow down my swing to get those irons not to hook. I swing too fast and the clube head never cathes up till I slow down my swing. as if I don't have enough to think about as is So when are you coming down to vist your brother so we can get a few rounds in Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

oldtinter Posted May 3, 2005 Report Share Posted May 3, 2005 Cool. I'm a big fan of Cobra products, I use a Cobra Driver and 3-wood. I just can't bring myself to part with my blade-type irons, I can't get use to those thick top lines on most of the new irons. I'm afraid of losing workability, and if I'm out of a match or just having a bad day, I then play around with working the ball, keeps it fun. Hopefully, I'll be down in August, it would be a blast. oldtinter Posted May 3, 2005 Report Share Posted May 3, 2005 OK..I just looked at the CXI on golfreview.com...You got about the same type irons I like. I was thinking you got the newer inertia irons. You didn't get a set of ultra-forgiving, ultra boring, beginners clubs. Nothing like that feel when you hit it on the screws of a players club. Check that site out though, it's pretty cool. But I am loveing being about to take a regular swing. did hit a few hooks, but after recaluating, I haven't been on the course in over 2 years, been to the range, but not out on the course. I might go out in the morning. got my mojo going, (not the nike balls either) hitting them dead straight or just a lil fade, I am excited all over agian. damn talking about it makes me want to get out now. I do need a new driver and 3 wood, the ones that I have are fomr my highschool days, I have a taylormade Burner bubble, not TI either, and some 3 wood that my mother bought me when joined my school team. so they are about 10 years old. they look so tiny compared to todays woods. I love my Cobra Driver, but I have the smaller head 290 SZ . I don't like those super over-sized heads for some reason. Feels like your swinging a damned volkswagon. I tested my driver against all the big boys a couple months ago, couldn't hit anything as well as my Cobra. Only one that out-drove it was the Taylor R7. Just not willing to fork over $400 for a driver that's not heads and tails better than my Cobra SZ, and looks like a volkswagon on a stick. I will let you know what I shoot, might get in a whole 18, depends on if I get some walk-ins at the shop that I have to run and take care of. I am looking forward to our game.
