not yelling, but....

since the majority of us are professional window tinters, we buy from various film distributors directly, not online. therefore, we won't generally have recommendations to DIY.

There are also high quality D.I.Y. :DD for example by LluLlu.

Me are there same films or not in LluLlu D.I.Y. line?

He's just talking about Gila from autozone.

Typically, buying a roll of tint is more expensive. Usually you're paying for quality.

However, there are some cheaper films out there than $15 for 6.5 feet, but they'll be purple just as quick if not quicker.

Check ebay.

No Leo... though the quality is ISO 9001, it is different (less costly) materials used to produce lower cost DIY. :DD

thanks for the input, ya I've been DIY'ing it and I've done my truck D/P's about 5 times practicing but I have a lot of friends that want theirs done and I wanna help them out without dissappointing them.  So should I stick with buying 6.5 feet at a time for 15 bucks at auto stores and that would be the cheapest?  I just thought a roll cheaper per foot because of the "buy in bulk" concept.

FYI, a truck's D/P is not the same as tinting a car.

chances are, you will disappoint your friends... even if you install it clean, if it's cheap tint, it will turn purple.

I don't understand why anyone uses cheap tint. you see so much cheap tint with nasty installs on the road, that people think that's just what windows look like if they're tinted. why de-value your car, or theirs?

I don't know what to tell you. you could buy expensive tint, but it's not going to look that much better because it's just you installing it. unless you're looking to become a full time pro window tinter, don't tint windows. tinting is NOT something you do as a hobby.

u sure discourage any one that wants to learn thats for sure; it's not like you've even seen what I have done. Also, you criticize me for using cheap tint but the whole topic of this thread was to help me find somewhere to buy good tint. There is also lots of people around my area that I know that do tinting on the side and dont own shops and they do excellent work.

Well if you buy good tint you dig a very large hole for yourself.

I "barely" broke even the first year I tinted. Then I fell short about 2 cars for my second year.

Of course, this is year three, tools are bought, tint is paid off, and I'm finally UP on $$$$....by a little. =)

Had I been using the $60 for 40"x100' I'd be rich by now.

If you want good tint, then pile together some money or get out your credit card and pick a company and call them.

We also discourage new people to try to save them. I was in the hole a lot when I started out....all because I didn't want to take my $500 car to get a $150 tint job.

Sorry, but I don't trust all these ISO 9001, 9002, 9003, 90** e.t.c. - if customer buy and happy - it is good product, if don't buy and unhappy - worse film.

All these ISO'z is for burocracy. How these people can reccomend me management system :woowoo ? I am Z-generation capitalist - with soviet high school education, where I learned that capitalism is bad thing :bling:lol2:lol2 .

Don't trust, sorry....

But of course may be Gila is made from other material - of course. But cheaper doesn't mean worse...

There are many other things how to make thing cheaper - for example to say "Bye, bye" some 10-20-30 manager or something like that.... :bling:cool:lol
