Many local municipalities will require a "Privilege License" to work in that area. As far as insurance, Not required but I would consider any business that does not carry it as "not legitimate". I carry a Million dollar policy.

Workman's Comp. Not required if less that 3 employees.

Business license/privelage and insurance of course. But I've heard that contractor's license is required for commercial $750 or more but basically just paying the state more $ than necessary? :lol2
