I have been installing tint on residential and commercial windows for over a year, and I am trying to get all of the information that I can. I need to know what is the best way to sell and advertise to customers. I want to know all that I can about the business, I know how to install but I need to know about the business side of it better. Any advice would be appreciated. :beer

Paper advertising doesn't always pay off as one would like... it's like owning a boat... big hole to throw money into.

Network synonymous businesses... glass shops, home and biz security, Interior decorators, window fashion biz, home improvement, property managers, building engineers, building contractors, window cleaners, etc.

3M... hmmm... then you're no stranger to paying good money for a film... look into LLumar, Vkool, Hyper Optiks and Solar Gard products... they have some of the finer selections you could wish was available.

Get yourself an AIMCAL book and study it. There is a lot of knowledge to be learned when you begin to sell. Nothing sucks worse than when you run into a customer who knows more than you. It happened to me when I first started and I never let it happen again. Its important to learn about glazing systems and which films can be used upon various types and exposures. The book is full of great stuff in respects to our industry, most of which is very useful. Ask your rep for one get insured!

You guys really do try to help out fellow tinters, and I really appreciate that. I was thinking about trying out SunTek films, I have used Llumar in the past and I really like using it. I am getting the AIMCAL book right now. What is the average pay that a tinter should get?
