Guest SunKet
I'm currently using my spare blades that came with my red dot knife..when I try to cut the film it doesn't cut that much and leaves an uneven cut..my question is..should I press on the film harder or should I use a different blade??if so,which is the best for cutting film?? I try not to press hard because I don't want to cut on the customers glass...PLEASE HELP ME
TINT
I try to "snip" whenever its losing its sharpness, you can press a bit hard but dont over do it, unless you'll be spending good amounts of $$$ replacing glass. other way you can do is, go buy some 1/8" tape, apply over the border of the glass and use that to protect from scratching glass....good luck
SWAN
I aways snip snip... dull blades will just tare the tint and make it rough at the edges. I love my Olfa... and like tint said, you sure don't wanna press to hard...
Guest SunKet
yea I do snip it..the red dot knife has the snap off thing..I do press a little hard but still..maybe is because is a carbon blade??
SWAN
hmm? I don't know much about the carbon blades? I only use stainless steel. Maybe you should try switching knifes?
FRANK
Make sure that you are using stainless steel blades, carbon blades dull out fast and cut the glass
Texastintchick
The blades that come with the red dot suck. By a 50 pk of olfa stainless and through those that come with the red dot away!
Guest metint
The blades that come with the red dot suck. [*]315986 That's because the blades supplied with NT (red dot) knives are Carbon.
Guest tint rookie
1st thing to do with a new cutter......throw the accompanied blades away. they suck, and they scratch. if you use them and you are pushin hard enough to cut the film, youre pushin hard enough to scratch.
