Putting together tint percentages?

Say when you are double layering, or adding the tint to the stock percentage, how exactly do you get the percentage of two layers put together? I've heard that you multiply the two percentages together, but how do you do that? How about the two percentages plus the stock percentage? Math anyone?

50% of 50% is 25%. Or 20% of 70% is 14%. Yes, you multiply them like .50x.50=.25, or .2x.7=.14, get it?

35% film = .35

72% glass .72

.35x.72=.252 or 25.2%

it dosent always work out like that

no....they have a 3% margin of error when calibrated as needed. plus...it's good to have the same device that the cops use for testing tint.

same here....the cops can use a meter, now all they need to do is figure out how to read and understand the law.

here' it's minimum 24% VLT. customer of mine came in yesterday with a ticket cause it metered at 31%. friggin morons enforcing a law they dont understand.
