Alright. I can not find a decent steamer. What are you guys using and where and how much did you spend? I found a Wagner steamer soley to be used for wallpaper removal. I thought that would work well but it was over $50! Plus, I can't really use it for anything else. I was hoping to find one of those universal ones like you see on HSN channel sometimes. :DD

not much your gonna find under $50, the cheapest one I have sean on qvc was the scucci one that was like $60.

I have a SharkII, picked it up at Sears for about $60.00. Works good for removal but I am getting a Jiffy steamer for PPF.

Ours came from a hardware store, 40 bucks I think. Works great, but for how long I don't know. Had it for about a year now.

In most cases (not always) the film comes off the best by getting a corner lifted off the glass, then steaming directly on the adhesive and then applying a little pulling pressure and let the film come off as it pleases. If you are leaving glue, steam longer and don't pull the film as hard. Sometimes, it doesn't matter what you do, the film is going to seperate from the adhesive, but nonetheless it makes if pretty easy to scrub the glue off if you keep throwing steam at it while scrubbing.

Also, all those extra wall paper attchements...as soon as you get one, take them all, put them in a bag, and chuck them out in the trash unless you actually intend on removing wallpaper sometime. Just use the nozzle and spray it right out onto the glass and film.

      Lucid Air- tinting issues

      I'm half way through tinting a Lucid Air and just thought I would give you all a heads up. The rear doors on this model have screens which are in the way. Even if you tint with panels on, it will be a problem. There's a wide rubber molding that is also in the way. Add in $$ for time and effort.

      I've been ordering here, filmnow.com. Shipping to CO is pretty quick. I usually call to get a 60" cut down to 38/22 rather than just ordering online.

      Best place to learn window tint ppf

      Ppf is going to be the easiest for you to transition to coming from detail and being familiar with car body shapes. Tinting can be alot more challenging to get right in a detail shop, even for an experienced installer. Taking the class from Xpel would probably benefit you in your position because it would (1) give you brand support for ongoing install questions. (2)becoming a dealer would probably be easier after having gone through their training and beginning a professional relationship. (3) likely give you access to a protected product area. Ask first to make sure that access will granted. (4) you would most likely be added to their list of installers on their website if you are accepted as a dealer. For someone just starting out the dealer/marketing support would be helpful, even if you pay a few dollars extra as compared to taking a random class and whinging it. Once you've been at it for a few years any solid brand/product will do, however, some prefer the dealer model for the obvious benefits and build their buisness around it. You'll find what works for you after you've been at it for a few years. Good luck and post any install questions you might have once you get started. This is a really good/helpful community here.
