I have been a tinter for 5 years and my shop has always used Johnson and Madico films. I just recently bought a 1987 Volvo 240. My favorite tint is Onyx, even though it is considered black it always has had a blue color to it. But, my shop stop carrying Onyx and so I tinted my volvo with Charcool instead. My car windows are not smoked, so they have no color whatsover to influence the tint color. Dude, it is me or is this tint have a brown hue in it? The tint is supposed to be considered grey, but when I look at it in the day....especially through the 5 percent on the back window.... it looks brown to me. Is it just me or does Charcool have a brown/bronze color to it?

When I hear charcoal...I think of the charcoal that goes into barb-b-cue pits that is grey.

I live in San Antonio Texas.....do you know where I could get Onyx(someone that would sell me like 20 feet)? I asked around and so far no one carries it.

Charcool is not brown dude, its somewhat of a greenish hue to it, 5% though does have that brownish shine on it. im so bummed about madico though, they dont really have a true gray film out there, they got they're old ancient TG series but that stuff doesnt heat shrink for shiat ya know, so I dunno, madico has to start doing some changes and being up to date with these other manufacturers, or else down the toilet.

You never said what film it was....everyones charcoal is a bit different. There are a couple, one for sure, that have a brownish look on some cars. That look actually is about a dead ringer for alot of factory privacy glass, at least it's the best match I've seen on most. I'm talking about ST Carbon BTW.
