Removing Old tint on rear windows

I had a car come in with this tint on the rear window that was so old, not only was is purple but it didn't even come off like normal tint does... It was all flaky. I'm use to removing tint that comes off like a big peace of plastic then all I have left is the glue... Not only was it hard to scrape off, but I had to work around the rear defrosters, being careful not to take them off.... Is there a tool or a technique that is out there that could have made my job a little easier with this old tint and the defrosters??

THanks

What Losdawg said. Because there have only been a couple of hacks doing tint in my area for along time, when I first started up most of the jobs I was getting was for removal.

Steamer, steel wool and new stainless steel blade plus simple green works every time.

Don?t know Tigerstripes idea, but from his posts I would have to believe it, but then again, who has the time.

If you need a steamer for removal Lowes or Home depot 50- 60 bucks
