Ok, here is the thing....I just got an 8' X 5.5' piece of tempered glass 1/4" thick to use as a stand. My cousin married this guy that owns a glass company, so I actually got two of these things for free. Oh, and they are actually going to start sending me customers because I guess people go in there all the time asking about tint. Anyways, back to the topic. I need to make some sort of frame for these things because they are pretty large and I don't want them to shatter when I lean them against the wall and put pressure on them. Does anyone have any Ideas on what would be the best way possible? Thanks in advance.

I'd probably try to get that cut down once you figure out what size you need. If its tempered, you'd have to try awful hard to break quarter inch. I have a smaller piece of tempered glass (its actually a windshield of a 70's combine tractor) that has been everywhere. with the edges supported you could actually stand on it. thats another story :lol6

Man did I ever learn that the hard way... glass shop next door through a shower door... said I could have it... I wanted it smaller! Score with the glass scribe, place pencil under scribed line at edge and applied pressure to both sides of the pencil.... :coffee:lol6:lol6:lol:lol6

Took me a few minutes tracking down all those little kernels of glass... :bingo

I use glass slippers on mine. Works great. I had one explode when the bottom corner touched the concrete while transporting it years ago. I thought I was killed. :lol6 What a mess.

They're just little styrofoam thingys that come on the doors of new vehicles. Kid at one of my dealers suggested it and saved a slew of them for me. Top and bottom. I'd always worried about trash rolling out of the frame when I considered doing that. :coffee

thanks for the suggestions guys. guest, I think Im gonna steal your idea. I was thinking it had to be in an angle, well thats how I have seen them before (im still new to this) but I guess it doesn't matter. Would you be able to do me a favor show me a closer look at how you did that? If you don't mind that is... Thats about the size im working with....Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
