Doing my first 3 retail PPF installs today

Recommended Posts

Did the hood, fenders and mirrors on a 2005 Sedona Van, and 2003 Altima, and he's bringing me back a 2004 Tundra for the Deluxe kit with all the grille and bumpers. I must say, this is a lot of work, I'm all pooped, but I must say, I'm pretty proud of myself for having very little training (watching a video). So, any tips for making things go faster?

Try a steamer, try film-on instead of JJ try dirt-off instead of alcohol, try a black smoothee for curves and valleys with the steamer to avoid stretch marks, use a sharpend chopstik to remove specks, hair, flys,spiders,waterfowl,a-hat customers

its :dunno Im guessing you use kits?

make sure you squeegee by pulling the water, not pushing it, or else you will leave ridge marks.

keep the top wet and the squeedee will slide easier

soap is for slip and alcohal is for tack, but spray the alcohal back under the soap or you'll have a start line.

use a yellow turbo about 12" long for wide flat areas, and 6" with tube handle for edges.

mix less soap then you think, and more alcohal then you think,

unless your using a clearcoated film tell the customer to keep it waxed. or else some films will start to silver or haze over.

But in all seriousness, about 1.5 hours each, and yeah, they were pre-cut, although the Altima needed a bit of trimming to make it look and line up nice.

He still hasn't brought me the Tundra, looks like I might be working late, I have to go feed the baby at the hospital.
