blade
asked what I do when a customer comes in wanting !llegal tint. I told him I try 1st to kick them in the nuts. cop: assuming you don't get to kick them in the nuts, what do you do? me: try to convice them to do it legally. when they push the issue I turn into a prick....people that I don't know coming in and asking me to break the law for them pisses me off. I have 3 copies of the law posted here in the showroom and show those customers that it's a misdemeaner offense for the installers. cop: well I'm going around checking shops because there are alot of illllegallly tinted cars running around. me: yeah I know...I lose business daily because I won't do it and others will. cop: it seems that the problem shops are up north rather than here in the valley. me: yeah well it's only a 20 minute drive for valley customers to go up north. cop: nice to know your doing legal installations. and now you know, we're checking into more. blade
I thought it was great for him to come in. I've been so borderline on this shiat lately. shops all over town take business from us and nothing happens. they just make money. I've been close to saying fock the law. if they aren't going to enforce it at our level then why lose business over it. I've had a couple cops tell me that it's not something for us to enforce. if we do what the customer wants then they deserve the ticket. that's not true though since it's written in the state law that illlegal installation is an offense. TintWizard
In Canada (so far) there is no fine against the tinter for doing !llegal tint , the fine to the customer is $105 . It's a 'grey area" on the law books in our province..It's a judgement call on the officer ..whatever substantially obscures the vision of the officer looking in the 2 fronts. I always stick to 35% myself.
