Guest chip01
For both quality and speed Microedge File Exacto Knife I have been using the exacto knife to shave the edges of rollups but it has caused me some problems and alot of trashed tint. I used to microedge and switched because when I used to cut the pattern on the outside the tint didn't always cut equaly all the way round the window so I started shaving. I am looking for the best way or any tips to getting the top edge right to a professionally standard. Also if I was to go back to microedging what gap should I leave to be safe without being silly. Also any tips if I should continue to use the exacto on shaving without fcuking things up thanks in advance chip
Guest MidcoastMW
well, your kinda asking for a factual answer on something that is opinionated. Good luck! lol. I do the micro edge, and leave maybe 1/16" gap, sometimes less, sometimes a lil more. For some reason, I never really had a problem getting the edge to come out clean and even. Guest sytran666
if your not getting an even edges your probably changing the pitch while cutting your paterns. keep the blade at the same angle. when your installing the film is the glass on its way up or down? tintnfool
file. the only professional way. [*]363857 Yeah, the reason they weren't coming out right was your hand moving. Nothing is wrong with the window, you were obviously changing your blade angle while cutting the top edge.

[*]363836 Agree with sytran. Unless its frameless, I micro-edge ( 32nd or less ) roll-ups. AND set the top edge with a heat gun or micro torch (BE CAREFuLL with torch!) shaving framed roll-ups IMHO can only lead to peeling down the road. Especially with how tight some of the new cars are being made. Just keep ypur blade at a constant angle when cutting the top edge.
