So im tinting a 2005 Jeep wrangler, lay all the paper out, rough cut most of it...... I start the rear window and it has all these cut outs around the glass........ Rear Window Wiper, 2 Hinges, 2 Hydraulic lifts which are in the way.

I am no perfect tinter, I can freehand perfect curves but perfect circles are another thing, so I remove the hinges unbolt them and prop the glass up with a broom (which I have done many of times) so I finish the window and it looks great, time to do the side windows, I start to pull the film apart and BOOM ! sounds like a gunshot, glass everywere stuck in my hand all over my clothe.... needless to say the angle wasnt good on the broom and it slid.......... luckily my partner knows the owner of the local glass shop and ordered a pretinted glass from the factory for 320$ :(

Moral of the story.......What can go wrong will go wrong 90% of the time.

h@te it when that happens!! If it makes you feel any better, the little piston clamp tool that the tool trucks sell works really well! Until you forget to take it off and slam it straight through the back glass!!! :DD This happened on a jeep, I totally spaced the lil clamp!! It even has a huge REMOVE BEFORE CLOSING tag!! :lol6

when I prop a window up with a broom, I use a push style and put the broon up on two old 20" tint boxes on the floor so it wont slide. I also have a bunch of paper towels taped to the end of the broom stick. I later coated the broom end with urethane for windshields so the top wont slip either.
