Hey guys,

Looking for a little professional advice. I'm in New York and contemplating an electric red/black leather 2006 325i. I know 70% is legal but what would I be able to get away with without any hassles from our friendly peace officers? Not getting red would probably help, but my last 3 cars have been black and I'm ready for a change!

Thanks for any suggestions you may offer.

Keep it legal :finger:

My main concern is trying to keep the black interior from getting too hot in the summer....will 70% accomplish that?

The near infrared comes through your windshield and gets absorbed big time by the black interior. Once absorbed it turns to far infrared which is the IR wavelength that you feel as heat. Windshield and black are the problems, use a windshield sunscreen and V-Kool 70% might help a little but a darker metalized film will help even more but you run into legality issues.
