Here they go....

This looks like movement in the glass industry that I don't want to see.

So it will be some time, years maybe, but there appears to be a lot of money behind this license.

Impact? Comments?

Short term, no worries. Long term is another story. But with a system like that at which the driver can contol the light transmission, lawmakers will be scrambling to catch up. With state laws varying the way they do, How can it work unless you program the maximum vlt that can be dialed in? How much is it going to add to the cost of the vehicle? They have always said tint is a dying business, but I'm still here!

It will be interesting to see! When REFR first went public-I have a friend who invested 10K into their stock. his share rose rapidly to be worth over 40K in 4 months-he sold as well as others-the stock fell below initial purchasing price and I thought REFR was dead! I guess I was wrong!!! :evilgrin

Below is what is specific to cars, but there may be more in the 8K filing, because it looks like a copy of their contract with each other.

So what does this say they intend to do?

"Light Valve Transportation Vehicle Window Product" means a

Light Valve used or intended for use as a window (including

sunroofs, windshields, and side and rear window panes which

are an integral part of the internal or external structure)

integrally incorporated in a transportation vehicle of a type not

primarily designed or primarily intended for military use. The

term "Light Valve Transportation Vehicle Window Product"

shall not include a Light Valve used or intended for use as a

sunvisor, but may include Light Valves which are used or

intended for use in a non-military transportation vehicle as, or as

part of, or are laminated to, or the surface area of which is

primarily attached to, a window, sunroof or windshield. The

term "transportation vehicle" shall mean passenger cars,

recreational vehicles, trucks, boats, mobile cranes, and trains,

but shall not include other types of vehicles such as aircraft,

space craft and space-stations.

I think I see them coming with "on and off" sunvisors, and the use of the word "laminated" is also interesting.

Prototyping and selling an IPO is really different from production. When they start making 500,000 units, the costs will drop like a stone.

So if I see them coming, I will have plan B up and running in case they knock my Plan A down.
