20" for most side windows

I stock 36 in rolls...18 will do most cars....however I have just started to get 60 in rolls and have them cut 36 and 24....now I can cut the 36 on my handler and have the 24 for the trucks and whatever....and I go thru the 36's faster so I will be ordering mor 36's than 24 but it is nice to have both...and yes 40 will do eveything....but seem to be a bit more waste on them especially on back glass
