My CP Film rep stopped on by my new shop in Fremont today without making an appoinment to see me. Luckily I was there to greet him and talk to him about the new stuff that CP Films is coming out with.

Anyway, right now I am carrying 4 different types of films.

1) Suntek HP Charcoal..........entry level with lifetime warranty

2) Suntek Infinity OP.............full metal

3) Huper Optik Ceramic.........high end film

4) V-Kool 70%......................speciality high end film for front doors

.

The entry level HP charcoal is alot better than any dyed films on the market and has a lifetime warranty but it does not cover again FADING or COLOR CHANGE.

The other 3 films cover against it.

I have heard that CP Films has switched all their ATR Charcoal line to the Llumastar which is a half metal/half dyed film but also includes fading and color change in their warranty.

Should I also carry that film as an upgrade or not? Figure I can get between $25-$40 extra per job with this film. What does everyone think?

They are also in the process of entering into the Paint Protection Market with a new product that is suppose to be very easy to install on cars. If you guys make it out to SEMA this year, they will have an AWESOME booth setup so anyone can try, hands on, installing the clear bra or window tint. Hope to see some of you there!

Correct TTS...

ATR & AT Charcoal (aka LLumastar) is warranted for all the usual stuff and against color change, however, it does not cover fading.

Some :asshat customer is sure to come along and claim their upholstery faded and is covered under the LLumastar warranty...

NOT...

No where in the warranty verbage is anything said about fading. :beer

This has got to be a record keeping, logistical nightmare when someone returns with a problem... :beer which film did I originally put on that car?

How do you do it? Keep track, that is...

MY rep says he will come by,, and never shows. If he ever does show, the surprise will be on him,,,, A construction company bought my warehouse last month.. Maybe he can sell some tints to them :beer

hmmmm,, maybe writing the film brand and stock  # on the receipt would help.

Remember, no receipt, no warranty coverage.

Yes I know...

Early morning cobwebs in the head and my a$$ was showing.

I am and always have been a smarta$$. Tough to let go of.

sl*t...

I feel your pain and the rep should feel yours if he ever shows...

When I rep'd the area assigned to me, I knew the face of every name on my client list. Some even said there was no reason for me to stop by, they only bought a little. I always replied with, "You are on my list, I will come see you". What some reps don't realize is it is and can be a simple thank you for buying since the paycheck includes commission.

For metint4u2 it is a matter of gratitude. :beer

I haven't seen a film rep from ANY manufacturer in almost 8 years. in fact, I've only seen 2 the entire time I've been in business. but hey, I'm one of the little guys. I don't buy alot of film, and I only tint around 450-500 cars a year. so I'm not important, solar gard proved that to me this summer.

I guess it doesn't matter that I'm the best there is between dallas and houston, and from what I've seen, I'm better than 95% of the ones IN houston and dallas. (I'm leaving some room there for squeeg and TTC, so I'm not treading on any toes)

installation quality matters to only a handful of people, and they're all members of this board. everything else is about fukin money.
