When you do these do you file the edges all round or do you just cut and put as close as you can to the edge,and how do you file and what file do you use.Thanks

On these cars like a neon for example all you do is the same thing you would do on the top edge of any window cut all around the edge and when you apply it leave a 1/16 gap and and carry on as normal. No filing or anything necessary.

I shave my edges with my olfa while the liner is still on, and install it right to the edge

When you say shave do you shave the film on the outside or place inside with liner on then shave.

either way, whichever fits better. leaving the liner on means the film is a little tougher to shred or tear

Do you keep the knife flush to the glass when shaving.

usually 45 degrees lower than the plane, and at a 45 degree angle to the film. it helps to hold the other end of the blade with your other hand for better control

I file every rollup dont hardly take any longer n I think it gives a bettr finish ,I use nail emmery boards theya re like ?1 for 10 usualy use 1 per 2 doors ,it gives me a edge with no chance of catching peeling etc n it also makes the window look factory ,ive had a few customers complain about the tint being cut with a gap around the top until they find out I file ,they seem to think they are getting a better job ,n a happy customer can only help my buissness

when I do these I cut the outer sides first then slide the film twords the front of the car about 1/16th tach it down then cut the top, no filing, no complaints. I've seen some with 1/4 inch gaps all around, how then can they even complain about a 1/16th all around gap!
