Hello all, Im new to the board.

I just received my 1st flat glass job.

Ive been tinting auot's for a few years now and Ive also been working

at a Signshop for 8 years.

Anyway my 1st Flat Glass Job just fell into my hands for over 50 windows

which are 4' x 8'. The customer wants 3M Scotchtint P-18.

Has anyone ever worked with it? I might also be doing this job by myself,

think its possible or do should I do it with one of the other guys too?

Anyone have an idea of how many hours or days it should take?

:evileye

Any advice would really help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Well thats alot shorter than I thought, so I guess that is a good thing..... Windows are all about 2'

or 3' feet up only.. Ill bring a little giant probably. Its an entire floor of a building on something like the 20th floor... I think I will try to get a helper. Being that I never tinted a large flat glass job do you think I need to take a

class or anything??

:evileye:bingo:shock should be no problem as you've worked with film, backroll and pull about 2 ft. to expose adhesive ,spray exposed film, spray the lower area of glass (after prepping) and set the top.

it's been awhile since hanging 3m, but I believe it is harder to snap the liner as it rolls down so just tack the top and proceed from there. I will usually nothch the bottom corners to keep the film from crimping and go from there . just take your time and do a good job , more will come good luck!!!

ps in case you never used backroll method( we call it "diamondback "roll in az., from working with security film,

if you're not carefull it will bite you :lol6 ) anyhow : roll film with liner in and you'll have it.

some films tunnel if left for very long so loose roll it till you're ready to go and you'll do fine
