broke key

hey everone,

My key broke off a little while ago when I was drunk and nowhere near my truck. Now I'm in a delicate situation. I have near to no money, and a truck that I cant use at all. just curious as to how I would be able to rewire the ignition so I can install a push start button to turn my engine and also somehow turn it off. Also, would I be able to use the main power cord of the ignition that comes from the battery to do this, and how would I go about doing this. If not, how much does it normally cost to get another key made. It is broke off nearly at the base. My truck is a piece and dont really care to put that much money into it, and I'm pretty sure noone would steal the P.O.S. either way. its probably easier to get another key made, but like I said I have no money. Maybe someone could send a couple links to sites that offer help, and maybe pics to such topics. My truck is a 1986 Nissan ST w/ a 2.5l 4cyl. D16 gas 2-wheel drive engine, also w/ power windows and locks in it. My drverside door is broken to the point where I have to crawl in the passenger side door. this truck is just the only pos til I move to Austin, and just need it to last until I can move. If that helps at all. thank y'all very much in advance. Levi_peterson@sbcglobal.net

For the amount of money you will spend in parts to bypass the ignition switch you may as well just run on down to the local parts store and spend the 20-30 bucks on a new ignition switch (with keys) and be done with it...
