I need help getting the tinting off of my car windows. I have a '95 Nissan Altima with 2 layers of tinting on each window. I pulled the first layer off with no problem, but the second layer isnt cooperating. I've tried windex, newspaper that is wet and soapy, and a blowdryer. The windex is working, but not that well. How do I get the tinting off my car windows fast and easy, without sending it to someone? I dont have the money to send it to a professional.

:beer help!!

fast and easy,

Not gonna happen.

If it was fast and easy we would not charge the big bucks for a removal. The sides you wet and can scrape off with a razor blade, the back you need a chemical or steam as not to damage the defroster lines.

Also a blow dryer isn't going to do much. Get yourself a heat gun...If you don't have a heat gun then right there you might as well spend your money on getting the tint off professionally then you screwing up your window.

they make a tint remover.. I got a gal. on ebay for $30 great stuff.. much better than using amnonia...

yesterday I had to do a removal on a VW bug.... I only charged the person $25 to do all the windows.. took me about 45 min..

what do you all charge for a 5 window removal??

actually... I did find a fast and easy way of getting it off... all you have to do is get a WALLPAPER REMOVER (which is basically a steamer thingy) and a pair of tweezers and a load of paper towels. it works awesome!! I got 2 windows done in like about 10 minutes each. it was AWESOME!! I was so excited! the heat melts the glue and the water gets underneath the tinting to make it come off but you still have to pull the tinting and be patient, dont pull too hard or the sheet will rip and not come off in one peace (found that out the hard way). but if you wait too long to take the tinting off the glue sticks back onto the window and its harder to get off. so work quick, but be careful! its hot!! I thought about it and I realized tthat what I was trying to do was the same thing as removing wallpaper, exept it was a window not a wall and it was tinting not paper. so I got out the wallpaper remover and tried it. it was soo wonderful.
