what's the heat absorption rate on that gila platinum? you're going to want to know if your windows are dual pane.

:wall

And also what size are your windows? Gila only comes in widths up to 48". Seaming is not just a town in China. :lol6

Ok, let's see if we can do this without naming names then... :bingo

1st you want the lightest film

2nd the maximum TSER in that catagory

3rd to be able to install it yourself

Well if you want the first two really bad, then #3 :klingon

The lightest and highest heat rejector that I know of is:

78% VLT (almost clear)

46% TSER

There are some 70% VLT films (slightly darker) that can reject a little more heat but I was sticking to your 1st and 2nd wishes. Is this clear film the best tint to keep cool in the home as your topic says? :inot

What is the name of that Film please?

Thank You.

You can say what it is, no problem.

I guess everyone is a little gunshy because of what a former member was doing. He lost all credibility because of it. There is no problem giving advice to a consumer in a thread like this, so no worries VC! :klingon

This stuff is so clear and cool there is no need to ask any questions about glass breakage. I think they even warranty it on laminated glass? :inot
