OH CRUD? am I wrong or right?

in your pro op . how or why does something like this happen. :sad

without calling names......

the melted look is a common failure with under the sun film

I think it has more to do with the detac adhesive than the water

the fingers on the sides are a common failuure from the other guard

seems the laminating adhesive lets go and the mounting adhesive stays

the same failure causes the roll-up layers to seperate

sore.jpg

the other common failure is the orange peel looking texture the adhesive gets

Dev diddn't put a pic of that .......so here 'ya go

sore2.jpg

...but you have a valid point

if you leave too much slip it will cause the adhesive to fail prematurely

the same goes for too much soap in the slip

it appears that my swamp climate is very similar to Oz :dunno

what am I looking at ? is that a roll up ? or a back glass ? high wires? what.

looks like bad. cheap film :lol2 no wonder.

turn down the ego dude :sad

it won't fly here :dunno

what you are looking at is film failure from several different films

...including some of the most expensive on the market

of my two pics the top one is a roll-up de-laminating after 3 years

and it is a premium HP film

the bottom one is a back glass who's adhesive has gone blurry

and it is a mid-range HP film

Devil,

Yeah, we get stuff like that almost every week. Supplier covers most warranty claims, but you win some, you lose some.

A fellow tint shop owner here in Brisbane gets "4 or 5 per week"...no particular brand seems worse than others, the sun does not seem to play favourites in the Aussie summer.

More reason to keep plugging away at flat glass, hey Dev?

For efs sake mate...you say you have 16 years or is that 16 weeks.?

Both photos are of a rear screen about 2 years old (WRX) and if you think that those little squirly marks are water left in behind the film, then you are in cuckoo land.

It's friggin adhesive failure! :bat:) Plain as day? Let me have some of what you are smokin and drinkin dude. :dunno:sad

Multi piece rear screens? No way...both jobs are done in one and the seperation is not what it seems especially on the maroon car.

This is a form of adhesive tunnelling...fact.

And what fellow aussie Rocky says.........

He is right on the money! :lol2

No particular brand 100% but one mob definately worse than the others.

I have seen this happen within 12 months TG.

But up where Rocky is situated in sunny sub-tropical Oz he would get it much worse than I.

This is happening because of heat shrinking and I've seen it via wet and dry methods...makes no diff!

And you're right Rocky.......at least CDF flat glass film is the way to go. The lads up top don't know how lucky they are.... do they Rocky? :nuts

:bat all the time.

I suggest you heed Zo's and Devdude's advice and rethink your attitude and arrogance here.

We all including myself have been knocked down a few notches around hear.

This is a neat forum and large family for those that choose to stay and be hear.

Chill stay awhile and share your knowledge of the business. :fdup
