I personally pull the panels on the 6..one of the few cars I do..they come off easy enough for the end result..but to each his/her own

some you dont have to pull

some you can tuck and untuck without damaging film

some you slide the film underneath, but when squeeging the water I would squeege to the side so there isnt any excess water underneat the seals to prevent from having raising water fingers which tend to create contamination

I have always pulled panels and probably always will, with practice it will only add about 10 minutes per job and to me its worth it

I have done both, but now I just shrink the bottom a little and they go in easy and stay down without fingers.
