Syd Barrett, one of the original members of legendary rock group Pink Floyd, has died at the age of 60 from complications arising from diabetes.

The guitarist was the band's first creative force and an influential songwriter, penning their early hits.

He joined Pink Floyd in 1965 but left three years later after one album. He went on to live as a recluse, with his mental deterioration blamed on Dr*gs.

singing the wrong words on purpose

or standing on stage like a zombie saying nothing

sad.... the acid trip never led back out into the real world

in his later years he was committed because he wouldn't take his insulin

in his early years he was committed because he was fuggin crazy

sadly..... many people have OD'd on acid and never came back

The guy was 60 years old! I believe his recrational dr*g days ended a while back.

He left the band in '68........
