You just told on yourself! That cut in the glass was so ragged that there is no way I could have done it.Besides,I've been tinting so long that I can use a carbon blade and not scratch glass.

CSC I have never heard of a way to get it out.

but try cleaning the glass real well before you cut, maybe you are pulling debris or something

because it you are doing all of the above you would have to be standing on the knife to scratch the glass IMO.

snap snap snap....... always keep a sharp blade. One thing that I try to avoid is putting my index finger at the end of the blade holder. It seems to cut down on the pressure that gets applied to the glass. Hope the info helps :finger:

CSC I think the Eastwood company carries a kit to remove minor scratches from glass! I have never tried it, but if the scratches are not to deep it may be worth a try, they {Eastwood} are a reputable company}! :finger:

one shop I work at is a glass shop and they do polish out scratches, but if you can feel it with a finger nail then it is pretty well over.

for keeping it from happening then only thing I know will always work is the button technique. Use a button under the knife blade and it will slide along keeping the film cut and the blade from the glass.

otherwise dirt or cheap glass is usually the culprit if you have a stainless fresh and well snapped blade.....

I have heard that jewlers rouge and a high speed buffing wheel works, but I've neer seen it done. :lol6

I've used that jewlers rouge when I was a windscreen fitter. Its a powder I watered down and buffed with a small electric head designed for the job. It was OK on very, very light scratches but its pretty useless, I found, for anything that may warrent it.

In future use a small piece of card between the glass and the blade :hump

Guest nautiboi73

also you can take the time to get a cutting talbe. or cuting wall.

I only do one cut on most SIde's and thats the top, I use a china maker (or sharpe)and ruler for the edges and bottom and I promise my cuts come out better, less fingers when installed and just overall a better install for me vs, cutting on the car.

something to consider.
