Have yo ever done a sign with wood? Like stick vinyl on it? How do you do that? Wood type, paint type. ect?

Have done signs on the MDO type plywood. Just primed and painted and vinyl last a long time.

ok thanks! Did you paint with house paint? MDO or MDF? I have never heard of MDO.

Prime the MDO and I use semi gloss latex paint! Plywood is not a good option!

Same here, the MDO is a Marine Grade plywood that withstands the moisture.

if you want to have a real sharo looking sign, like with raw wood,

cut the design out reversed and lay on like a stencil and stick down tight, then stain with different shades, and poly coat the wood and it looks insane. ill try to find some pics of ones ive done. dont know if I still have any, but if you got ??? email or pm me.

Cool! I would like to see some! Thanks for all the replies

I did a address sign with wood/vinyl.

It was I think a plank of oak or pine 1/2", sanded smooth. Applied the vinyl on it, then used clear polyutethane over the top of it. looks amazing..
