Progress and Side glass tint cutting question

All I did was the rear window today. Not half bad for my first try. I did the quarter windows too but I messed up on one of them so I took both sides off, as I ran out of film.

I want to do the side glass in a few days. My main question is this. How would you recommend cutting the film? It is a 1976 Buick Electra 4 door hardtop, and the windows do not close into a door frame like most cars of today, instead they are freestanding. I couldn't really think of a way to cut the film, except for making a stencil and then using some sharp scissors to cut out the film. The rear window was easy because you can use the window trim as a guide and tuck the ugly part in behind the interior trim. What would you recommend, and how have you done hardtop cars like mine in the past?
