New Golf and Seat Leon

Recommended Posts

I have just had our local Seat and VW dealer ask me to do some tints on their new Golf and Leon models. I asked them to fire up the official instruction for removing the door panels as its the first time I have done them.

You have to either take the door skin (the metal outside part) off the outside of the door or remove all the electric window mechanisms as the door panel is all part of the complete door.

Obviously I dont want to be messing around with these in the future, anyone tinted the door glass on these cars without taking the panels off?

If so how?

Many thanks.

I tinted a new "golf plus" today and left the panels on. You need to have enough film just to cover the glass, not extending too much to the sides or bottom.

The backglass is a PITA IMO.

Hard to get it in there because the plastic is in the way. Keep your cut pretty tight and maybe back roll it. I just frankenstiened it up there.

Took three times to get that back glass done.

First one ended up full of contamination, second one the shrink didn't go good, the third one worked!
