you know, this got me thinking. instead of designing one for a shop since 99% of everyone in here already has one they use everyday, why not go more along the lines of making one for the mobile tinters that could be moved around and transported easily? :beer

We could do both.

Right now I'm going to make one for my own use for my own shop. If people want to use the drawings to make the same one, thats great as everyone on the board pretty much will have a part in the design.

After this is done we can go into a mobile table design..

I think the cutting table you use depends on the shop you work in somewhat...

I have 2 boards measuring 46x76 I think at least 46 wide is necessary for comfort so you can place 2 door windows side by side on there, but even more necessary for big back windows like camaros.

This one is on wheels to move around, and stores film on the backside,

This one hangs from the ceiling and slides back and forth on a track:

Here is the first image of what I have so far. Not finished yet

Here's the break down

- 3 x 6 glass

- glass leaning 15 degrees back

- 1" tubing with 0.12 wall thickness

- McMasterr swivel Castors all 4 wheels

- frame is 57" wide

Should I add something to hold the film above?

There are two shelves for tools. Not finished everything yet but any suggestions so far?

to thin and top heavy. looks like an accident waiting to happen to me. Not everone though, just the 1 % of dumb azzes that screw it up for the rest of us

those were my first thoughts...looks kinda slim and weak, glass seems to big for it. I have what looks like an old sliding glass door leaning against the wall...works great :beer

It probaly is top heavy. I haven't yet done a COG (center of gravity) on it yet. I was modeling the table in between working on other things. I'll do a COG tomorrow and see what happens.

BTW, please know this isn't near done yet and my expertise is building frames and tooling. This is just a quick concept to work from.

I value everyones opinion and look forward to as many suggestions as possible. I WILL BE MAKING THIS TABLE and I'll post pics of it when complete. Still a while before that happens tho...

FIRST THING TOMORROW a COG.

So I should add a roll to either side then? DONE. I also plan on adding handles to pull and puch it around the shop.

Well. I'm detailing a Dodge ram right now, gotta get back to it..
