Inside grids on doors

I did some french doors today that had grids on the inside, I was going to just do 15 small cut and trims but decided to pop the plastic plugs and unscrew the grid frame. I used 2 or 3 scrap pieces on each door rather than cut all the littles ones. Looks better and I think its a lot quicker too.

get some L shaped tabs like they use to hold on solarscreens and put one at the top of both sides and the bottom of both sides. Take the screws that hold on the plastic frames and use them to screw through the L shped bracket and back into the holes they came out of.

I was actually thinking of a trick like that today but the window was painted in pretty well from the outside, although I did find myself squeeging with one had and holding the other outside just to be safe.

I had a thread going at one time on these types of doors... Way cleaner look to pop the grid off. I just make sure I tell the customer what the dillio is... caps - easy. If the screws are covered with putty or something it's going to be a mess, but the end result is much nicer. Never had anyone ask me not to take it off...
